In my life I’ve watched a lot of movies and TV series, but only one will always have a special place in my heart. My favourite movie is “The Amazing Spider-man” because the first time I saw it I was with my dad and I was just 4 years old! My dad and I used to play together, he used to pretend to be Lizard and I used to pretend to be Peter Parker.
I really love
Marvel movies and Spider-man is the first hero I’ve ever loved. I truly admire
this movie for its special effects, even if it is a little old now, but the
thing I mostly like is the story and the moral behind it.
Peter was
only a child when his parents died, he had to live with his uncle and his
auntie May. Peter’s backstory is really sad, especially for his age; when he
was a teenager he was bitten by a genetically-modified spider which
gave him some superpowers, like shooting cobwebs or climbing up walls.
Anyway, we need to remember that Peter was just a normal teenager, so he had a
normal life and he fell in love with a beautiful girl named Gwen.
Peter and
Gwen ended up together, but Gwen’s father was a policeman and he hated
Spider-man. During the movie Spider-man and the police had to collaborate to
protect the city and the citizens from Lizard, a “doctor” without an arm, so he
wanted to recreate it using the genetic code of a lizard, but in the end he
transformed himself into a lizard without self-control. In the fight Gwen’s
father died and he saw Spider-man without the mask for the first time, so he
made Peter promise that he would never talk with his daughter again.
The second
movie of “The Amazing Spider-man” was rather upsetting because during one
of his fights Spider-man couldn’t save Gwen, who died eventually. Devastated by guilt and sorrow, Peter ended his career
as Spider-Man.
Now I’m 16 and sometimes my dad and I enjoy rewatching those movies together, we talk about our little game, we also talk about how some of the framings are incredible because I love taking photos! Maybe one day I’ll work in the fantastic world of filmmaking, maybe I’ll take pictures of fathers and daughters playing together, but for now I can only hug my dad and make him remember how much I loved spending my time with him and how much I’m grateful to have an amazing dad like him, even better than the friendly and helpful neighbour Spider-man!
