AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE: MY TRIP TO MALTA

In April 2023 my teachers organised a trip to Malta. My mother asked me if I wanted to go and obviously I agreed. I was very excited and worried, I was only 13 years old and it was my first trip alone without my parents. In addition, I had to take the plane for the first time!

We had our flight in the morning, so I had to wake up early. When I arrived at the airport I was very nervous,  but my very first flight was quite enjoyable. When the plane landed we took our suitcases, the weather was beautifully sunny, in fact in Malta it is always very hot. We took the bus to reach the hotel, but then we had to wait for our rooms.

The next day we went to school and we met our English teacher, he was a strange guy, I remember he drank a big cup of coffee every morning. In the afternoon we always went sightseeing. Malta is a small country, so we could go to the various towns by bus, they are very beautiful, they have a unique style. Malta was an ancient English colony, so they speak English as well as Maltese which is used for daily communication. When we visited the various towns our teacher always let us some time to get around and buy something. When we went back to the hotel we could relax in the rooms, we had a shower, then we went to dinner. Malta is not famous for its food, as a result  we didn’t eat much at the hotel because food was disgusting; we were thrilled that  there was a shopping centre near the hotel, so we ate at Mac Donald’s every night! While I was in Malta I bought some magnets as souvenirs for my relatives, I also bought a a cup for my uncle  -  I was afraid it could break, luckily I didn’t break it!

On our last day there the school gave us a certification with our English level, we were very proud! Then  we took the bus to the airport, but the flight was delayed. During the flight we could see Rome from above at night ... what a fantastic view! When we met our parents at the airport they were very happy and asked us too many questions. It was an amazing adventure, I had lots of  fun with my friends and of course I will remember it forever!

When I was at the airport I thought: “This is my first and last time in Malta!”, but I didn’t know I would go there again the following year.
